ARRIVAL SPECIFICS

Unlike most other multi-fandom games, cityofnewhope does not have characters arriving randomly throughout the city. In fact, all new arrivals will appear, first and foremost, in the large welcome center in the middle of town.

They will find themselves in a small, plain room with a computer monitor against one wall. The monitor will turn on, and it is here that the character is told via one of the pre-recorded 'explanations' offered by the now-dead scientists, exactly where they are and what has led to them arriving in this place.

As we do not want to hinder people in this aspect, we do not have any 'set' rules aside from this particular setting when it comes to arrivals within the game. However, we do offer these suggestions you can feel free to include in your characters' narrative initial arrival into the city, should you opt to write the scene:

• The year is now 2030. This fact will appear somewhere during the orientation video.
• Those arriving are the final hope of humanity. They are expected to either find a cure to the plague that wiped out mankind, or they are expected to continue the survival of the planet within the safety of New Hope.
• The Large Hadron Collidor (LHC) can be mentioned, but we ask that you first check out the Wiki page about it, first.
• There is one rule that will be expressed first, foremost, and several times throughout the video. It is simply "You must never leave New Hope."

Once again, you are not required to write this arrival scene by any means. You can simply 'hand-wave' it, and focus instead on your character's initial exploration of the city or whatever else you can think of as your first post to cityofnewhope. Simply keep in mind that these things were explained to your character beforehand.

Also, should you feel that your character would provide 'trouble' upon arrival, do not hesitate to contact the mods and we will help you however possible. The same goes if you have any questions or specifics you'd like explained further.
